The BBC has decided to drop Total Wipeout, the Saturday evening game show hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram.

The series – shot in Argentine capital Buenos Aires - has run for four years but the BBC confirmed plans to end the show after one final run.

"After four very successful series of Total Wipeout - and one series of Winter Wipeout - the BBC has taken the decision that the next series, due to transmit later this year, will be the last," said a BBC rep.

Ratings for the recent Winter Wipeout series fell to 3.85 million. Celebrities who have taken part in the show include Joe Swash, Joe Absolom, Danielle Lloyd, Dom Joly and Nicola McLean.
