Pop guru Louis Walsh has revealed that he is delighted with the success of One Direction in America, and claims that he is the real mastermind behind the band.
Louis has explained that he is taking some of the credit for the success of Simon Cowell's X Factor boyband, and stated that he is partially responsible for their success.The band, whose album sold 176,000 copies in its first week, made history as the first British act to scoop a No 1 album with their debut release in the US charts.
Louis insisted that he too deserve a pat on the back for the band's monster success saying: 'I'm really pleased for them - it's an incredible achievement. I just want it to be noted that I'm taking some of the credit because I helped put that band together."

However, he said that Simon deserved full credit for breaking the band in America saying, "One Direction are No 1 in America because Simon made it happen."
He further told The Irish Daily Star newspaper: "From the very start he's always believed this act could break internationally and crack the American market. He has been proved right. I really don't think anyone else could have done it but Simon."
