Sir Tom Jones was left red-faced after failing to choose his former support act front-woman when she auditioned on the UK version of The Voice.
The Delilah hit-maker is a panellist on the TV talent show, which is set to debut next weekend, alongside Jessie J, will.i.am and The Script's Danny O' Donoghue.
The judge's can't see auditionees as they try out and only come face-to-face with them when they decide they want to be their mentor.
According to the Sun newspaper, Jones was left devastated after he failed to recognise the voice of Alison Jiear, who supported the superstar with her band The Fabulous Singlettes on several tours, and did not pick her.
A source told the newspaper: "Tom really likes Alison and felt terrible. It just shows how tricky the show is..."
