Dancing with the Stars judge Len Goodman has insisted that he will not favour Katherine Jenkins on the show.

The Welsh opera singer will be among the 12 celebrities on the ABC competition when it returns to screens on Monday, March 19.

Speaking to PA Goodman claimed that he will not be biased towards a fellow Brit saying: "I would like to see her do well, but the people are not stupid, and it would be so easy to sound like a fool if you had a bias towards anybody. I'll just say it how I see it."

He added: "I think Katherine will be good. She's a gorgeous-looking girl and I've got a feeling she'll be okay at it. You never know until they do it, but my feeling is she'll be alright."

However, he admitted that Jenkins may be at a disadvantage as she is not well-known in the US.

He further pitched in: "That might be her stumbling block. Most of them over there are saying, 'I've never heard of you', and they're probably saying, 'I don't know who she is', but I've met her a couple of times and she's a really charming, nice girl, so I'm hoping that the Americans will warm to her."

Gladys Knight, Jack Wagner, Sherri Shepherd and Melissa Gilbert are also among the cast of the 14th season of Dancing with the Stars.
