Australian actress Cate Blanchett has said that she is "too frightened" to consider getting plastic surgery.

"I'm not sitting on a soapbox telling women what they should and shouldn't do," she tells Fashion ETC. "I just know what works for me. I'd be too frightened about what it means long-term. Looking at women in their 20s doing this stuff, in the end all you see is the work. It doesn't fill me with admiration; it fills me with pity."

Luckily for her it doesn't look like she has to worry about plastic surgery any time soon as Blanchett is known for her pale, flawless complexion which she credits to Japanese skincare brand SK-II (she's the face of the company).

"I've been using it for a long time," she says, adding that part of her basic routine is born of laziness. "If it works, I keep using it. It's about consistency."

The 42-year-old, will soon be seen on the big screen in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
