Former X Factor judge Gary Barlow was caught up in a mid-air flight drama while travelling to South Africa.
The Take That singer was beginning a tour of a number of countries in search of inspiration for a song for Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Julibee.
According to The Sun, he was also set to record a version of George Harrison’s Here Comes the Sun for an upcoming Marks and Spencer ad.
However, three hours into his flight, the British Airways pilot announced that he was turning the plane back to the UK.
The singer wrote on his Twitter page: "Flew to South Africa last night. Had an ill passenger on board. Just landed back in London. #tryagaintonight
“3 hrs and then 3 hrs back."
He later added: "Over the next 5 weeks I'm doing 14 flights. Not a good start!"
