The Wire star Dominic West has been nominated for the Best Actor award at this year's Royal Television Society awards for his role as the notorious serial killer Fred West.
The Hour star, who is married to Catherine Fitzgerald of Limerick’s Glin Castle, has landed the nomination for his performance in Appropriate Adult.
West starred in the two-parter as the murderer who killed himself in prison in 1995 after being arrested and charged with eleven murders.
Emily Watson, who played Janet Leach, the Appropriate Adult of the title, the volunteer who sat in on West's police interviews and developed a bond with the murderer, is up for Best Actress.
The controversial drama also received a third nomination, for the show's writer Neil McKay.
The Royal Television Society awards will take place on Tuesday March 20 in London.
