Pete Doherty has confirmed that he has become a father for the second time.
The Babyshambles star's daughter, Aisling, was born to South African model Lindi Hingston in Cape Town on 26 December.
Despite previous reports that the child was Doherty's, he has now officially announced that he is the father. However, the singer insists that he didn't expect Hingston to announce the birth to the media.
Speaking to The Independent UK he said: "I'm really surprised she's done that (talked to a newspaper)."
Doherty also revealed that he wanted to be present for the birth in South Africa, adding, "The little girl was two months premature. I said I'd try to be there for the birth... Yeah, she's mine."
The When The Lights Go Out singer also has an eight-year-old son, Astile, with singer Lisa Moorish.
