Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to make his directorial debut in a new comedy in which he will star alongside Scarlett Johansson.
The Inception and 500 Days of Summer star also wrote the screenplay for the film, Deadline reports.
The website reports that Gordon-Levitt will play "a modern day Don-Juan" who is attempting to become less selfish throughout the course of the film.
The actor said of becoming a first-time director: “I was a child actor for years and quit at 19, went to school awhile, and a big part of why I came back was that I ultimately wanted to make movies.
“I spent a year working with Chris Nolan, Rian Johnson, Steven Spielberg, and I did my best to pay attention. I’ve also been making short films for a long time now, I’ve directed a ton of them, and that is a huge part of why I feel comfortable and confident in this.”
Shooting on the fim, which is as-yet untitled, is set to begin on April 16.
