Jane Carrey, daughter of actor Jim Carrey, is following her dad’s showbiz footsteps into the world of entertainment by auditioning for American Idol
Jane auditioned in front of the judges Steve Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, at the pre-taped rounds in San Diego.
She performed the song Something to Talk About and the judges where so impressed they put her straight through to the next round.
The young singer confessed she has found it hard growing up as the funnyman's daughter, revealing; "It is difficult kind of growing up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world underneath this huge shadow."
Lopez in particular was shocked to see Jane audition as she was a dancer on Carrey's comedy show In Living Color when Jane was a baby.
The pop star reminisced, "I remember you when you were little. Do you remember me? I was one of the Fly Girls."
Carrey admitted; "I think I was, like, two."
