Masterchef Ireland winner Mary Carney has announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Mike.
The chef revealed she was "looking forward to exciting times ahead" as she confirmed her pregnancy.
Carney,28, shared the news with fans on her blog and said the baby is due in July.
"The reason I've been off air for so long is that I'm expecting a baby in July and I'm suffering from the most awful morning sickness, which lasts all blooming day in my case."
The Waterford native took top honours in the country's first Masterchef competition last October.
She was due to take a year out from her job as a business manager to the chief executive of Eircom to concentrate on her food writing. However she revealed that her pregnancy had kept her away from the kitchen.
"I've been struggling to keep food down let alone cook it," she added.
