BBC Two has announced that filming has begun in Dublin on the second series of its detective comedy Vexed, with Paths to Freedom director Ian Fitzgibbon and The Savage Eye director Kieron J Walsh behind the lens.
Season two sees Toby Stephens (Jane Eyre, Robin Hood, Cambridge Spies) reprise his role as lazy Detective Inspector Jack Armstrong, with Miranda Raison (Spooks, Merlin, Married Single Other) playing his new, thoroughly efficient partner, Detective Inspector Georgina Dixon.
Nick Dunning (The Iron Lady, The Tudors) will play Georgina's father, with Roger Griffiths (Holby City, Chef) and Ronny Jhutti (Survivors, Ideal) returning from series one as Armstrong's best friend Tony and colleague Naz respectively.
Chris Sussman, Executive Producer, said: "We're very much looking forward to the return of Vexed. The second series promises to be just as much fun as the first, and with Miranda Raison joining Toby Stephens as new partner D.I. Dixon, we're hoping it's going to be all guns blazing."
Fitzgibbon will direct the first three episodes of season two, with Walsh directing the second three.
The new series will be shown on BBC Two later this year.
