After two decades away from the soap, actor Nick Berry made a shock return as Simon Wicks on EastEnders on Friday night.
After the closing credits, Berry appeared as Wicks to lay flowers on the grave of his screen mother, Pat Evans (Pam St Clement).
As he placed the bouquet on the grave, he said: "Goodbye mum."
He then stepped back into the shadows.
Berry's return is reported to be a "one-off", as he has retired from acting.
