Ronan Keating has revealed that he would love to work closer to home.

The Boyzone singer, who currently is a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor, said that he would ideally like to be a judge on a reality show in Europe so he could be closer to his family in Ireland.

Keating told Bang Showbiz: "I'd love a gig in Europe, to be close to the family. I'd love to be at home. If I was in London doing any of the shows it would be great, but hey, I've gotta be grateful."

He also said that he was unsure if he would be able to work on the UK version of the show if Take That's Gary Barlow stayed on the judging panel.

He explained: "Gary is a good pal of mine but I don't think they'd want both of us on the panel. But it would be great."

Keating added that Simon Cowell is closely involved with all of the shows, saying: added: "Simon is quite involved, he oversees it all. We met him in the summer last year and told us what he was looking for. He's very hands-on with it. He watches all the shows, our show in Australia and comments on them."
