Ahead of Sunday's Golden Globes in the US, Irish nominee Brian Byrne has paid tribute to the members of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, who worked with him on the soundtrack to the film Albert Nobbs.
Byrne is nominated in the Best Original Song category for Lay Your Head Down from Albert Nobbs.
Byrne wrote the music; Albert Nobbs star and scriptwriter Glenn Close penned the lyrics; Sinéad O'Connor sang the song and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra recorded the soundtrack for the entire film in June with Byrne conducting.
Byrne said of the orchestra's work: "I am incredibly proud of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and its enormous contribution to the Albert Nobbs soundtrack. I am so glad I got to do it with the home team.
"This orchestra's versatility is unmatched in Europe – let's hope there will be many more collaborations like this one."
