Katy Perry has taken to Twitter to address her fans following her split from husband Russell Brand.
"Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, 'close sources' or my family [sic]," the singer, whose husband, comedian Russell Brand filed for divorce last month, said on Twitter yesterday.
Perry, 27, didn't only address rumours surrounding her split from Brand, who cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce. She also thanked her loyal followers for their concern and well-wishes during a difficult time.
"I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world," she Tweeted. "You guys have made my heart happy again."
Before yesterday, Perry had not Tweeted since December 26. On December 30, Brand announced that he was filing for divorce from Perry. "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends," the 36-year-old released in a statement.
