Strictly Come Dancing star Holly Valance has announced on Twitter that she is engaged to her boyfriend Nick Candy.
The Australian actress and singer took to Twitter to post an image of the proposal which took place during the couple’s holiday to the Maldives. Billionaire Candy had the words “Will you marry me” written in fire on the beach. She tweeted 'And I said YES!!! ? Happiest day of my life!!!!! Xxxx.'
The couple travelled to the Maldives this week after last weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing which was won by McFly’s Harry Judd. Valance narrowly missed on a place in the final three having been voted out by the public in the previous week alongside One Show presenter Alex Jones.
The couple have been an item since 2009 after being introduced by mutual friends.
Valance is best known for her role in Neighbours as Flick Scully which she quit in 2002. She then went on to have a number of hit singles during a short-lived pop career.
Mr Candy is one of Britain’s most successful property developers.
