Royseven’s We Should Be Lovers has been confirmed as the most played Irish song on Irish radio in 2011 and the fourth most played song overall this year.
The six-piece band beat The Script, Westlife and Snow Patrol in radio plays. The single, taken from the band’s current album, You Say, We Say, also polled at No 4 in overall plays. Jessie J was No 1 with Price Tag, Adele No 2 with Rolling In the Deep and Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera at No 3 with Move Like Jagger.
“We’ve been through a long process since our last album in 2006”, says Royseven lead singer Paul Walsh. “It’s been a considerable journey, but a very worthwhile one. We are signed to an amazing label in Roadrunner Records and the support and enthusiasm they have for us is wonderful.”
Royseven will perform as the main guest at Duran Duran’s o2 Dublin show on Tuesday, December 20th next and following a short Christmas break will team up again with good friends The Coronas at their show in Killarney’s INEC on 28th December.
