Katy Perry has been named MTV's Artist Of The Year 2011.
The singer was honoured with the title due to her accomplishments over the past twelve months, including her global tour and US Hot 100 chart-toppers.
Perry achieved five number one singles from her album Teenage Dream, matching the chart record set by Michael Jackson.
She also matched George Michael's record of having six top five singles from one album after her single The One That Got Away moved up to four on the chart.
Speaking about her win, Perry said to MTV: "I've had a fantastic year, a great tour and a great run, and you guys have been so a part of it and such a big reason why. I really appreciate it."
