Six time Grammy nominee, Adele, has made Billboard history by being the first female artist to top the Artist, Album and Single list in the one year.
Speaking about the 23-year-old, editor of Billboard.com, Tye Corner, said: “Her success is really inspiring because it shows that there is still room in the music industry for an artist to make it with true, raw talent.
“It's not necessarily always about the outrageous outfits or flashy videos, but an amazing voice coupled with the right song still has the ability to turn the ears of millions of people and keep them interested.”
Responding to the Billboard news Adele (Adkins) said: “I think one of the things that sets me apart from other artists who have had the same kind of success is that my life isn't speculated about by the media.
“I'm incredibly private but I'm also incredibly honest, and I think that creates a kind of 'meet in the middle' respectable ground.”
The singer was crowned the US magazine's Best Artist over US singers Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga while 21 was named top album after outselling Amy Winehouse.
Her song Rolling In The Deep fought off the likes of LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem and Katy Perry's Firework to become top single.
