Mitch Winehouse reckons Lady GaGa should play his late daughter Amy in a film about her life.
GaGa was said to be 'in shock' after hearing about the Back To Black singer's death last July and rumours emerged that she was in talks to play Winehouse in a biopic.
"Lady GaGa worshipped Amy and would love nothing more than to transform herself into her idol on the big screen," a source said at the time. "There's only ever been one role she wants and that's to play Amy."
Mitch Winehouse has now given his approval for Lady GaGa to portray his daughter on the big screen should the project become a reality.
"We were invited to Tony Bennett's birthday party and we sat on a table with Lady GaGa's mum and dad," he told the Sunday Mirror. "They are just normal folk and very lovely people.
"I have heard that Lady GaGa is keen to play Amy in a film. I don't know what her English accent is like but it's not just an English accent she would have to perfect - it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practising now! But she would be great."
