Movie legend Uma Thurman is the latest star to sign up for forthcoming NBC musical drama Smash!
According to Entertainment Weekly Thurman has signed on to guest star in five episodes of Debra Messing's new show, which premieres on Stateside in February.
Smash! revolves around the personal and professional lives of a group of people coming together to stage a Broadway musical based on the life of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.
41-year-old Thurman will play a "famous and somewhat difficult movie star" who considers starring in the production.
The show also stars American Idol star Katharine McPhee (as a young performer vying for the role of Marilyn), Angelica Huston (as a legendary Broadway producer), and several stage veterans that give the show some genuine theatrical credibility.
