Following The Stone Roses reunion, Happy Mondays has denied recent reports that they are also set to reunite and perform together again in 2012.

The Sun had reported that Shaun Ryder was planning to bring the groups' original line-up back together and that they were planning to start performing next summer.

There had also been reports that they were going to re-release their album Pills n Thrills and Bellyaches.

However a spokesperson for the group told NME that the reports were a “bit of a leap” however they did not rule out that the band, who split in 1993, before briefly reuniting in 1999 and 2004, would not perform together in the future.

Meanwhile, Ryder now going under his full name of Shaun William Ryder, returns with his new band to play a career-spanning set, including hits from Happy Mondays and Black Grape at Dublin's Village venue this Saturday night.
