Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley presented their final show on ITV's Daybreak this morning, joking and saying a quick goodbye in their final minutes.
The pair have fronted the breakfast programme for 15 months, since the show was launched. Viewership has been up and down throughout the course of the programme and it seemed the public had still not warmed to the duo.
Tabloid reports broke the news that the presenters were leaving the programme in late November, before an official announcement had been made, which angered the two presenters. Their departure was then brought forward by a few weeks.
Chiles concluded their final show by saying "I'm off to concentrate on the football and Christine is being put on ice," referring to her recent appointment as Dancing On Ice presenter, alongside Philip Schofield.
Christine added: "That is just about it from us, good luck, have a great Christmas, bye bye."
The pair joked about not missing the early, midweek rises and getting to enjoy their evenings more. The pair followed their final morning with a drink in a local pub, alongside Kate Garraway and Dan Lobb.
Could this be the next Daybreak line-up? Kaplinsky and Holmes
Natasha Kaplinsky and Eamonn Holmes have emerged as frontrunners to take over from Chiles and Bleakley. However, Holmes has denied his interest after re-signing his contract with Sky News.
He wrote, on his website, "Being so associated with breakfast television for so long, there is often speculation linking me to other vacancies when they occur. I have had a really exciting, fulfilling and happy six years at Sky News and with today's signing of a new contract, I am delighted to continue hosting Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes for at least another three".
