Ricky Gervais has responded to criticism that his current BBC TWO sitcom Life's Too Short is exploiting its lead, Warwick Davis.
The BBC Two comedy, also written by Stephen Merchant, is a mockumentary about the diminutive actor’s struggles to get his acting career back on track.
Gervais tweeted: "People need to see the difference between programmes that satirise/highlight/reflect exploitation, and programmes that actually exploit."
The Office creator and star also told Davis: "I love how people respect your right to BE a dwarf but not PLAY one on TV. How dare you? Be small in private OK? Sicko!"
