Simon Cowell reportedly wants to return to Britain's Got Talent next year - and bring former Eastenders star Barbara Windsor as a judge with him.
A source told the Daily Mirror that Simon did not want to "take chances" with the ITV1 show, following criticism that The X Factor has struggled without him.
An ITV source was quoted as saying: "Simon wants to make it the biggest, most successful series yet. His presence will be a guaranteed ratings winner as he is so popular with viewers.
"Simon's been focussing on US X Factor and viewing figures for his British shows have fallen. He won't take chances with BGT."
On Tuesday, Baywatch star David Hasselhoff confirmed that he will not be returning to the show, while comedian Michael McIntyre previously announced his departure.
Amanda Holden will be back next year, while others linked to the next series include comedian David Walliams and former EastEnders star Samantha Womack.
TV favourite Barbara Windsor ended her 16-year stint on EastEnders last year.
