Pan Am star Karine Vanasse took to Twitter to say the show is being cancelled before quickly retracting it.
The French actress tweeted yesterday: "Well, we received THE call #PanAm is only coming back for one more episode after Christmas [sic]"
She added: "But up to the end, we'll give it our all!"
But she then made a u-turn and wrote: "Sorry for the confusion #PanAm fans; there are still 5 new episodes to air until February :)."
A rep for ABC has also defended the status of the 1960s-era show, claiming that it is still very much in production.
"No, this is not correct that Pan Am has been cancelled. Nothing has changed. We are not cancelling Pan Am. We are still in production and will continue to be in production finishing the original 13 episodes plus one more additional one."
Despite a very promising start out of the gate and receiving critical acclaim for its originality, US audiences seem to have lost interest in the series and unfortunately we don't think it's around for the long haul.
