Irish hopeful Janet Devlin was voted out of the X Factor last night following a sing-off with Misha B.
Devlin performed a cover of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol in the sing-off, but judges gave their backing to Misha B's rendition of Out Here on My Own from Fame.
Louis Walsh, who has been Janet's biggest fan, was first to vote and explained to host Dermot O'Leary that he would "pick the person that is going to give the most to the competition and wants this the most", who he then identified as Misha B.
Tulisa also chose to save Misha B due to her having more "potential" outside of the show.
When it came to the girls' mentor, Kelly Rowland, the emotional judge found it too difficult to choose between the two young talents and decided to abstain from voting, saying: "I really can't make a decision. I love these girls, I don't know what to do. I can't vote, I have to pass it, I'm sorry."
Dermot O'Leary then confirmed that Rowland's refusal to vote had sealed Devlin's fate. Gary Barlow also confirmed that he would have sent Devlin home.
It came as no surprise that 17-year-old was in the bottom two after forgetting the words to her song MMMBop the night before and even Janet appeared to be taking her exit from the competition rather well.
Speaking to Xtra Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, she said: "I feel ok... I have got this far and to go out now – I think it's all right you know."
When asked if she had anything to say to her mentor after being sent home, she told Kelly Rowland: "Don't worry about it. We all knew my time was up so it's alright."
The four remaining contestants - Little Mix, Marcus Collins, Misha B and Amelia Lily will go onto the semi-finals next weekend.
