X Factor hopeful Janet Devlin has said she cannot stand the sound of her own voice.

The Press Association reports that Devlin said: "I'm one of the very many people that can't stand the sound of their own voice, that's just how it is.

"I don't know what it is. I don't hate it and I've learned to get along with it a bit more than I used to."

Devlin said she was not the most confident person left in the competition.

"I've never once said to myself 'I can win this,'" she said.

"I just take everything as it comes."

Devlin said she feels a bracelet her boyfriend bought her is bringing her luck.

"Every time I took it off I had a horrible performance so it's staying on now," she said.
