Viewers can be assured of at least two more years of Jonathan Ross on Saturday nights after the presenter signed a £2m deal with ITV.

The late night chat show host made the leap from BBC to ITV over a year ago to front The Jonathan Ross Show which has performed well in its first season. His former show, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross ended in July 2010.

Wossy, as he's more affectionately known, will continue his Saturday night offering from July to December in both 2012 and 2013.

Running the story this morning, The Sun wrote, according to an unamed source, "it was always a gamble for him to reprise his chat show on another channel. He had been synonymous with Friday nights on the BBC but was replaced by Graham Norton in that slot".

"But he has brought in great guests for ITV and his ratings have been good so it was a no-brainer that he should sign up again."

Some of the notable guests who have visited Ross' new show include Lady Gaga, Helen Mirren, Adele, Michael Bublé, Sarah Jessica Parker and Coldplay.

Ross, who turned 51 last week, was once one of the highest paid BBC broadcasters.
