Taylor Swift has dominated at the American Music Awards, winning every award for which she was nominated.
Swift was named the Favourite Country Female Artist for the fourth year in a row, as well as taking home the awards for Favourite Country Album and Artist of the Year.
Nicki Minaj, who opened the ceremony with a performance with David Guetta, won her first American Music Award for Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, beating off competition from Kanye West and Lil Wayne. She also earned the award for Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for her 2010 debut LP Pink Friday.

Jennifer Lopez, who was awarded Favourite Artist in Latin Music, performed on stage twice at the awards, first a medley of Until It Beats No More, Papi and On The Floor, later in the evening joining will.i.am for a rendition of his single T.H.E (The Hardest Ever).

Katy Perry earned a Special Achievement award for having five number one singles from the same album, Teenage Dream. She is first female artist ever to win the accolade, which was previously awarded to the late Michael Jackson, among others.

Adele was awarded the Favourite Female Artist in Pop/Rock, Favourite Album in Pop/Rock and Favourite Artist in Adult Contemporary awards.
