The rumours are true - David Wicks will be returning to Eastenders for Pat Evans' farewell storyine. Warning: Spolier Alert!
Actor Michael French who plays Pat Evans son David Wicks has been tipped to make his return to Albert Square and yesterday his comeback was confirmed when he was spotted shooting scenes with the cast.
He was present amongst a large number of East End favourites who were filming at Pat Evans' funeral – the biggest send off any character has ever received on the soap.
However, Nick Berry, who was also thought to be returning as Simon Wicks, was not seen on the set.
An EastEnders insider said: "Pat's exit was always going to be huge and fans will not be disappointed. Her death has produced some of the soap's saddest-ever scenes and the funeral is no different. Her family pull out all the stops."
They added: "Janine splashes the cash and makes it the biggest funeral Walford has ever seen as the locals celebrate Pat's life. When her coffin turned up at the chapel in a horse-drawn carriage, there were one or two real tears shed by the cast.
"Pam was such a big part of Albert Square and it's been quite an emotional time for a lot of people.
"She was given a send-off at the studio bar and managed to hold it together as she gave her speech. Her exit has been a fitting tribute to both Pam and Pat."
