Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan today met with the stars of the TV series Titanic: Blood & Steel which is currently filming on location in Dublin.
On set were cast members from the series including Chris Noth (Sex and the City), Kevin Zegers (Gossip Girl), Derek Jacobi (Gladiator) and Neve Campbell (Scream).
Commenting on the benefits of having a major TV series filming in Dublin, the Minister said: “I’m delighted to visit the set of Titanic: Blood & Steel, which will invest over €12 million in the Irish economy on local goods and services, as well as creating over 200 jobs for Irish cast and crew.
"Images of Ireland will be broadcast to millions of viewers all over the world, presenting great promotional value to Ireland. Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board played a major role in bringing this production to Ireland, working closely with producers Epos Films, and we hope to be in a position to announce more new projects which will film on location in Ireland very shortly.”
Titanic: Blood & Steel, which will portray the epic process of building the ship from the ground up, is due to air in 2012.
