The troubled star has been ordered by a Californian judge to serve 30 days in jail.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner sentenced the actress for violating her probation and she must surrender to the jail by November 9.

She was not immediately put behind bars because the judge decided to allow her time to complete her nude photo shoot for Playboy, according to TMZ.

It is believed that the actress' lawyer, Shawn Holley, told the judge in chambers that Lohan had a $1 million contract with the famous publication.

Her jail time will probably be reduced due to overcrowding in Los Angeles jails - but judge Sautner was firm there was to be no house arrest or electronic monitoring.

He said: "You are to surrender by November 9 and begin serving 30 days. You will not be eligible for house arrest or electronic monitoring.

"When you get out you will report to the probation department and Ms Mansfield. Good luck to you with Ms Mansfield - she is no nonsense," added Sautner.
