Catherine Tate is to reprise her role as Nellie Bertram in The Office on American television.
Deadline.com reports that Tate will have a major recurring role in the second half of the season.
Tate's character was interviewed for Michael Scott's (Steve Carell) regional manager position in the season finale in May.
Commenting on her return, The Office executive producer Paul Lieberstein said: "Catherine is hysterical. We introduced her briefly in last season's finale and knew she had to be a part of the show somehow.
"We'll meet her again as corporate's special projects manager, and her relationship with Robert California (James Spader) will be far from professional."
