Hollyoaks fans may drop their dinner in their laps this week as the Mercedes Fisher (Jennifer Metcalfe) wedding day fiasco takes a new twist.

After calling off her marriage to Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) at the altar and confessing to an affair with his father, Carl (Paul Opacic), Mercedes decides to go on honeymoon alone.
However, there is an unwelcome visitor for her in the venue's honeymoon suite, serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).
He kidnaps Mercedes and chains her up in a vault, and no alarm is raised about her disappearance because everyone thinks she has gone to Dubai.
Actress Metcalfe recently said of the plot: "It's been intense and hard work but I've loved every minute of it."
