Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has announced that he and his wife Genevieve are expecting their first child together.
The actor, who plays Sam Winchester in the CW series, revealed the news on his Twitter account yesterday saying:
"OK y'all I'd rather you officially hear it from me.. So, yes. Genevieve is pregnant. We'll be welcoming a new member to our family in 2012 :)"
Jared first met Genevieve on the set of Supernatural in 2008 when she played a demon named Ruby.
The couple got engaged in early January 2010, before tying the knot in Idaho on February 27 the same year.
One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray was among those who congratulated Padalecki via Twitter following the announcement.
