Coronation Street actress Kate Ford has said that her character Tracy Barlow’s pregnancy will not make her a nicer person.
Barlow recently returned to Weatherfield with the news that she is expecting Steve McDonald’s baby. Later this week Tracy will discover that she is actually carrying twins.
Ford has revealed that she does not want Tracy to put her vicious ways behind her as she prepares to become a mother again.
She told The People: "I wouldn't want to lose that. Tracy is not a sensible or nice person, so it wouldn't make any sense to change her. She's brash, she speaks her mind, she always wants her own way and she doesn't care who she hurts in the process."
Ford added that although viewers will occasionally see a nicer side to Tracy, she would not change for the better due to her pregnancy. She said: “She'll still have her moments of pure vileness. She's the same person - you wouldn't want to cross her."
The 34-year-old actress also spoke about Tracy’s reaction to discovering she is expecting twins, saying: "Tracy is mortified when she first finds out she is expecting twins as she really does not know how she is going to cope, even with Steve's support. He has his businesses to run and is not going to be around 24 hours a day.”
