Less raunch on this year's Strictly?

Jones - Professional partner James Jordan reportedly had to tone down their dance

It is reported that BBC bosses have told the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing to tone down their routines because of the show's early evening time slot.

The Sun says James Jordan had to change parts of his routine with The One Show's Alex Jones after bosses saw the rehearsal footage; that Kristina Rihanoff's dance with Jason Donovan also came under scrutiny and that Audley Harrison's wife Raychel "also intervened" because she felt that some of the boxer's routine with professional partner Natalie Lowe was over the top.

A source said: "Strictly has made a name for itself with its raunchy costumes and sexy routines.

"But bosses felt things had gone too far this year and stepped in before the show aired to get some of the moves clipped.

"They were concerned viewers might be shocked at some of the more sexy moves planned for the first two live shows.

"Dancers could get away with more on Friday's show because it aired after the 9pm watershed.

"But Saturday's went out at 6pm when a lot more families were watching. Going forward, that will be the time it normally airs, so you have to be careful about these things."

The source continued: "Alex is a beautiful girl who looked amazing in her barely there dress and James has obviously been working out, so he wanted to make the most of their first dance with some sexy twists and turns.

"But once show bosses saw rehearsal footage they had a word to remind James this is a family show."

Of Rihanoff''s dance with Donovan, the source said: "Kristina wanted to pull out all the stops with some sexy gyrations. But after producers had a word she decided to wait until later in the competition to get away with something raunchier."

Of Harrison's wife's concerns, the source said: "Raychel was worried about some of the moves planned and told him so. Natalie didn't mind toning it down at all."
