An autopsy has revealed the cause of death for Taxi and Grease star Jeff Conaway, who passed away last May.
The 60-year-old actor, who publicly struggled with addiction, died from a major internal infection, the Associated Press reported.
Los Angeles County coroner Craig Harvey said coroners did not conduct a toxicology test because Conaway had been hospitalised for weeks prior to his death, so his blood would have come back clean.
Harvey added that opiates and other drugs were in his system when Conaway entered the hospital on May 10th. The actor had previously featured on US reality show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
Conaway was best known for playing vain, struggling actor Bobby Wheeler on TV sitcom Taxi and Kenicke, the swaggering best friend of John Travolta in the movie version of the musical Grease.
