Iconic airline Pan Am may have closed down in 1991 - but Nice Airport turned back the clock over the weekend.

Thousands of TV executives from around the world are en route to Cannes for the annual MIPCOM market, which starts on Monday.

The majority of them are flying into nearby Nice airport, and have been greeted there by a group of Pan Am stewardesses - a promotion for the new ABC/Sony TV series, which will be among the shows presented at the annual a TV and entertainment market.

Pan Am is a period comedy-drama set in the jet-setting days of the 1960s, when Pan Am ruled the air and was considered the height of sophistication. It stars Christina Ricci as a stewardess at the airline.

Pan Am is coming soon to RTÉ Two.
