Tamzin Outhwaite has said that she would not consider it a "failure" to return to EastEnders.
The actress, who played Melanie Owen in the soap for four years, left the role in 2002 and previously denied speculation that she had been invited and turned down the opportunity to make a comeback.
In an interview with This Morning, she said: "I've never been approached [to go back]. Would I go back? I don't know. I wouldn't see it as a failure to go back - it's a great show and it was a great character.
"I just think it's not necessarily right now. But you know, I loved it! I've just never been asked and I think people always think that I'm turning them down; and I'm not!"
