A fire broke out at a house in the Hollywood Hills last night that is believed to be owned by actor, Jack Nicholson.
The property which the actor is currently renting out to a friend is just off the famous Mulholland Drive, where the legendary actor owns three acres of property.
Two firefighters were transported to near-by hospitals with serious injuries after working to extinguish the fire.
The current tenant, Bill Tynan, told firefighters that he woke up feeling a strong smell of smoke but managed to escape the flames.
According to the firefighters it was a challenge to bring the fire under control as the house is situated on the side of a hill, so obtaining access was very problematic.
"This is a large house on a precarious slope," said Matt Spence of the LA Fire Department. "It is difficult, and access is tough because of small, windy roads in that area."
"The fire was confined to the house. It did not extend into the brush," said Assistant Chief Scott Mottram of the LA Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
