An ITV spokesperson has dismissed media reports that backstage crew on Coronation Street are threatening to strike over their hours.
The Daily Star, quoting a source, says that members of the crew are unhappy about what they see as unsociable hours and raised their concerns at a tense meeting with the show's bosses.
The source said: "It got really heated because everyone working backstage is at the end of their tether.
"The cast are doing long days too but we don’t get paid anywhere near what they do."
However, an ITV spokesperson said: "We routinely hold meetings with the Corrie crew. There has been no discussion of strike action."
