Michael Fassbender has revealed that he considered a career in bar work when acting wasn't working out for him.
The X-Men: First Class star admitted that he was nervous when film roles did not come quickly, but took faith in the fact that he would always have experience running a bar.
He told the Daily Telegraph: "I was thinking, what if this doesn’t work out? I haven’t been to university, I’m not the most academic person... but then I thought, well, I do know the catering industry, so I’m going to learn as much about making cocktails and running a bar.
"So I started managing a bar, and then suddenly I was getting auditions."
The 34-year-old actor added that he is grateful to be able to make a career out of acting, saying: "It's crazy that I've worked with the people I have, that I'm actually allowed to earn a living out of it.
"I've always thought you mustn't live your life where at the end you go, oh God, I didn't do that because I was worried about what other people might think of me."
