EastEnders fans have been told that Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) will actually do something slightly noble - after a bit of cowardly dithering - in the soap next week.
Warning: spoiler alert!
The Daily Star reports that on a night out, Ian is punched during a melee involving returning character Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) and some bouncers.
A source told the paper: "Ian has a night out with the lads and they go to a strip joint.
"Sadly, their evening doesn't quite go to plan and Ian goes back to the club later by himself.
"When he gets there he notices a blonde getting thrown out.
"He recognises her but refuses to acknowledge her.
"This leaves Mandy furious, so she grabs him and gives him a big kiss.
"Ian is mortified – but before he has a chance to do anything he's caught up in all the craziness.
"Mandy is desperate and will do anything to get away.
"Ian has two choices – he can either let her get into his car and save her or leave her to deal with the angry guys by herself.
"He was pretty adamant that he didn't want to get involved but, seeing how distraught and scared she is, he ends up feeling a little sorry for her."
Fans can see the action and Stapleton's return as Mandy on Monday August 29.
