Earlier this week it was reported that the New York foursome will be make a return to the small screen for a new series of the hit TV show. Now the star of Sex In The City Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that we can also look forward to a third film in the near future.

In an exclusive interview with US magazine Parade, the pint-sized actress confirmed rumours that there is a chance for another sequel to the film franchise. She said: "There is. I know what the story is. It’s a small story, but I think it should be told.”

She added: "The question is, what’s the right time to tell it?"

It looks like we are in for a treat as it has been confirmed that a new series of Sex and The City plus a third movie are in the making.

When asked about Darren Star’s plans to bring back the iconic show a source close to the Daily Mail newspaper said: “Ultimately Darren Star – the man who created the hit series – will have the overall say, but everyone is agreed a TV show is the direction they want to take the franchise in.”

They added: "Sarah Jessica Parker will be producing. She was worried about doing another film after the bad reaction to the SATC2 movie, but a TV show is definitely something she wants to happen."

According to recent reports it has been suggested that a possible prequel TV series starring Blake Lively, Elizabeth Olen, Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts may be in the pipeline, with the actresses playing younger versions of Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha.
