French acting legend Gerard Depardieu got himself into a spot of bother and ended up being removed from a plane after getting caught short while waiting for take-off.
The 62-year-year Green Card star had boarded a flight in Paris bound for Dublin when the incident occurred on Tuesday evening. The ‘fasten your seatbelts’ signs had come on and passengers claimed the actor had attempted to urinate in the aisle repeating that he needed to go to the toilet. The Daily Mail reports that cabin crew members informed the captain that a man was causing "security and safety issues."
The Air France plane then returned to the stand and Depardieu was asked to leave the plane at which point the two people travelling with him chose to accompany him.
The plane was then cleaned and took off from Paris two hours late.
Friends of the actor have claimed that the star had tried to urinate discretely into a bottle and that when some spilled on to the floor the actor had offered to clean it up himself when the cabin crew ordered the plane back to the terminal.
The actor was coming to Ireland to continue filming Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia.
