EastEnders actress Rita Simons has opened up about suffering regular panic attacks following the birth of her twin daughters Jaimee and Mayla.
According to the Mirror newspaper the actress, who plays Roxy Mitchell, has suffered from attacks while on the set of the BBC soap.
Simons has even admitted to wearing headphones when she is out shopping “to block everything out”.
She further revealed that her traumatic episodes have often made it difficult for her to continue on the soap.
Simons said: “I was having attacks almost every day and living in fear of having them the rest of the time. I walked off set a couple of times and had to have a strict word with myself."
The actress continued to say: "I felt sick all the time and had the shakes all the time. And then I’d go back into full-on panic.”
She added: “When it happened again I realised I had a problem and I had to get help.”
It is reported that Rita, who joined EastEnders four years ago, is working with a doctor to prevent future attacks.
