Ray Romano has officially signed up to guest star in The Middle and will appear in the third season premiere of the comedy, TV Guide reports.
This casting news marks a reunion for Romano and his former Everybody Loves Raymond co-star (and on-screen wife) Patricia Heaton, who plays Frankie in The Middle.
Romano will star as Nicky Kohlbrenner, who has history with Frankie. It emerges that Nicky was partly responsible for ruining Frankie's honeymoon with Mike (Neil Flynn).
Heaton previously joked that Romano appearing on The Middle would be "too confusing" when the rumour that he could make an appearance began circulating in June.
Romano's latest award-winning television project, Men Of A Certain Age, was by cancelled last month by US cable channel TNT. He also recently guest starred in the season finale of the US version of The Office.
